Consultation & Assesment
Is Medical Massage Right for You?
Start with a Clinical Assessment & Consultation
Not sure if you need medical massage or therapeutic? Most of our clients come to us after "chasing" pain for months or years. Our Clinical Assessment is the first step in stopping the guesswork and starting a targeted recovery plan.
What Happens During Your Assessment?
-
We don't just start massaging; we investigate. A clinical assessment at Idaho Medical Massage is a 1-on-1 session with our Medical Massage Practitioner.
-
Functional History Review: We discuss your diagnosed conditions, injury history, and the specific ways your pain is limiting your daily life.
-
Postural & Gait Analysis: We look at how you stand, sit, and move to find imbalances that are stressing your muscles and joints.
-
Range of Motion Testing: We measure your current mobility to set a "baseline" so we can track your measurable progress over time.
-
Palpation & Source Identification: We identify specific trigger points, or fascia restrictions that are the true source of your symptoms.
You Should Schedule an Assessment If...
-
You have a chronic condition like Sciatica, TMJ, or Scoliosis.
-
You are dealing with a repetitive strain injury from work or an acute strain/sprain.
-
You have pain that continues after having massages, physical therapy, and/or chiropractic care.
-
You want to use your health insurance (including VA benefits) for your care.
-
You have "knot" or muscle tightness that just won't go away.
The Outcome
-
By the end of your assessment, you won’t just have a "massage"—you’ll have a Plan. We’ll explain exactly which muscles we need to target, how many sessions it might take to see results, and how we will coordinate with your other doctors or other healthcare providers if needed.
Take the first step toward moving without pain.
