Common Questions
Therapeutic vs. Medical/Orthopedic Massage?
Therapeutic massage is customized to your preferences and comfort, often focusing on relaxation, stress reduction, maintenance, and overall wellness.
Medical and Orthopedic massage is focused on specific musculoskeletal conditions, dysfunctions, or concerns. Treatment is individualized based on your needs and may involve assessment, treatment planning, and coordination with your healthcare provider when appropriate.
Do I Need a Referral?
A physician referral or prescription is required for medical massage when billing insurance or when massage is part of a coordinated healthcare plan.
Orthopedic massage may be scheduled directly without a referral for concerns such as pain, injury recovery, postural imbalances, or functional limitations.
When appropriate, I can also coordinate care with your healthcare provider to support continuity of care.
Does Idaho Medical Massage Except Insurance?
I accept insurance plans with applicable massage therapy benefits. Complete the Insurance Verification Form below to have your benefits reviewed before scheduling.
Insurance verifications are completed once a week. Once reviewed, I’ll contact you with your coverage and scheduling options. Additional requirements may apply.
Reviews
"Idaho Medical Massage is the best massage therapy in Pocatello for chronic pain from repetitive work related movement. Amber takes the time to understand your body, history and goals. Her combined healing techniques have been more effective than anyone else I have been to. Her prices are fair, and she is an excellent communicator and so easy to work with. A++"
